Scott Stamatakis

Scott Stamatakis

Scott Stamatakis was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. Scott graduated from Gaither High School before heading to Tallahassee, Florida where he attended Florida State University earning his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in criminology, magna cum laude, in 1995. While earning his degree, Scott worked at the State Attorney’s Office for the Second Judicial Circuit, William N. Meggs, as well as the Department of State, Division of Licensing. After graduating from FSU, Scott relocated to Gainesville, Florida where he attended the University of Florida’s College of Law. As a Gator, Scott earned his Juris Doctorate in 1998. 

Scott started his legal career with Florida Default Law Group, PL, once considered the largest plaintiff ‘foreclosure mills’ in the State of Florida. In 2003, Scott decided to begin his own law practice along with his friend and law partner, Sami Thalji, when they decided to use their vast knowledge and experience of the inner-workings of big business and big government to advocate justice on behalf of consumers throughout the State of Florida.

Scott is also licensed real estate agent and a licensed title insurance agent in the State of Florida

Sami Thalji

Sami Thalji

Sami Thalji is a native Floridian, born in Clearwater and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. Sami graduated from Osceola High School in Seminole, Florida before attending and receiving both his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Sami started his legal career in law enforcement as a public servant in Tampa at the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. In 4 short years, Sami worked in nearly every department at the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office ranging from the Juvenile division, to Domestic Violence, Misdemeanor and DUI divisions, Felony divisions, and finally Major Crimes.

Shortly after leaving public service, Sami started his own law practice with his colleague and law school classmate, Scott Stamatakis. Sami evolved the practice to align with his personal values, the most important of which is fighting on behalf of people that cannot fight for themselves. Over the years Sami has helped develop Florida Consumer Lawyers into a full service consumer rights law firm.

On a personal level, when Sami is not working,  you will find him volunteering his time to the community. You can normally finding him working with and training and developing young people with FC Tampa Rangers and Court Supremacy University.

Nick Fowler

Nick Fowler

Nick Fowler was born and raised in McGehee, Arkansas.  He was named an Arkansas Governor’s Scholar and Robert C. Byrd Scholar.  Nick went on to attended college in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the University of Arkansas. While there he joined the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and was named to the Dean’s List.  He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2006 majoring in Financial Management and Investments.

Nick then relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He was named a Thomas Moore Law Scholar and enrolled at Marquette University Law School.  While there, Nick was chosen as a Senior Member of the Marquette Sports Law Review.  During his second year at Marquette, Nick interned at the Southeastern Wisconsin Professional Baseball Park District.  Nick conducted extensive research of professional baseball park contracts and leases.  During this same time, Nick also interned at Start Playing Safe.  There Nick performed risk assessment analysis of local area high schools and prepared extensive reports on his findings.  While at Marquette, Nick also worked as a small claims mediator.  He mediated cases involving numerous issues including landlord-tenant issues, creditor-debtor issues and contract issues. Nick went on to intern for The Honorable Judge Pamela Pepper of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.  While there, Nick gained experience in the bankruptcy processes of Chapter 7 (liquidation), Chapter 11 (business reorganization), and Chapter 13 (reorganization) bankruptcies.  In 2009, Nick received both his Sports Law Certificate from the National Sports Law Institute and his Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School.

In early 2010, Nick relocated to Tampa, Florida.  He joined Florida Consumer Lawyers in 2010.  At Florida Consumer Lawyers he aggressively represents consumers throughout Florida in a wide range of areas with his main focus in bankruptcy and foreclosure defense.  Nick is dedicated to representing clients in all matters of the litigation process, from handling negotiations and mediations to representing clients in hearings, trial, and even appeals.  Nick has experience in numerous areas including bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, mediation, real estate law, credit card defense, sports and entertainment law, and contract law.

Nick is licensed to practice law in all state courts in Wisconsin and Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and is a member of the Young Lawyers division of both the Wisconsin and Florida Bar.

Melissa Thalji

Melissa Miller Thalji

Melissa Miller Thalji graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stetson University, in Deland, Florida before moving to Gainesville, Florida where she earned her Juris Doctor with highest honors, finishing in the top 5% of her class an as a member of the prestigious “Order of the Coif.” Melissa’s practice has an emphasis on real estate, estate, trust and probate litigation and disputes, as well as complex litigation. Melissa also helps clients navigate difficult waters in areas concerning commercial and corporate issues, partnership disputes, and contract disputes.

Melissa is also a licensed real estate agent in the State of Florida and represents buyers and sellers in luxury residential and complex commercial real estate transactions. She is also a certified mediator.
